Is it legal to own a Bald Eagle?

Im talking about if you have the right papers and stouf like that. And what process would it take to own one. Thank You

1. if u had licenses probably, but maybe not cause there endangered
2. No and there are major fines and jail time if you are caught with one and you are not a licensed wildlife rehabilitators.
3. a lot of training, lots of paper work, even then depending on the reasons most states won't let you. talk to the Department of Natural Resources, but if its native you shouldn't own it.
4. no becuz they are indangered unless your helping them and the goernment knows about it.
5. No, if you live in the US all native birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and are illegal ot own as pets. Even having the feathers of a native bird is illegal, let alone owning the bird itself! Many birds are further protected under the Endangered Species Act. The Bald Eagle..although recently taken off the endangered species list is still illegal to own unless you are a zoo, or wildlife rehabilitator. Even rehabbers don't keep these birds, they release them back into the wild.
6. no because they should be free and if they see you with one you can go to jail.
7. In the US it in not even legal to own one of their feathers. Unless you are an american Indian, and you can own a feather, but not the bird.
