Why Bald eagle is a national symbol of United States of America?

1. Why not? So many countries have eagles as their national bird. Benjamin Franklin wanted it to be the turkey, because they are ONLY native to this hemisphere, but when it was voted on, he lost.
2. What I remember from school is that our founding fathers voted on it. I distinctly remember that Benjamin Franklin & many others actually wanted it to be the turkey, but that one lost out. Not regal enough, I guess. Good luck !
3. If you've ever seen one in the wild, you'd know!
4. They are majestic birds. They can soar and watch over their territories without a sound. Then swoop in to defendit or to catch a meal. Like it was said if you seen one you'd know why - Awesome.
