why is it illegal to take the egg of a bald eagle, yet we can kill a human egg(abortion) legally?

What does it say about our society that we place more value on the life of a bird than a human?

I'm serious - look at how many abortion-on-demand types say it's better to abort than to condemn a child to neglect, abuse, etc. It implies, if not assumes, that the only alternatives are mistreatment or destruction, like garbage. We don't treat the people who are here already with the respect we would treat an "endangered species." So it's no surprise that we don't treat the unborn the same either. It's profoundly sad.

21. It's illegal to take a Bald Eagle's egg because they're a protected species. They were just upgraded from endangered species list to threatened. In no way is the human race "threatened". In general, society should protect all species as you never know the ecological impact it will have on humans. We are caretakers of this earth but the only thing we seem to care about is ourselves. Do I think that abortion should be used as a means of birth control? No, but I do think that women should be able to make that decision for themselves. Someone once said, that if men were the ones to get pregnant, there would be as many abortion clinics as there are Taco Bells. All you can do is live your life according to your principles and hopefully set an example for others to follow instead of finger pointing. Those that lead by example as opposed to casting the first stone have a better chance of making a difference. Which are you?
